Role: Dual Role - Shared Nursery Assistant( (SGW) and Playworker (TGC)

Reports to: Senior Manager (TGC) / Nursery Manager (SGW)

Locations:

  • St Georges Junior School (Weybridge)
  • Occasional meetings at TGC Head office based in Old Windsor (within 10-mile radius)

Term Times (Monday to Friday):

  • TGC: Term Time (TT): 17.5 hours per week (PM: 15:00pm to 18:30pm). 
  • SGW: Junior School: (TT): 22.5 hrs per week (AM: 10:00am to 15:00pm). 
  • Lunch: 30 mins unpaid

Holiday Club Times (Monday to Friday)

  • TGC: 40 hrs per week during school holidays. All Day, Flexible days/times per week.

Salary: From £26,000 negotiable dependent on experience

Employment Contract:

  • Annualised hybrid contract working across both TGC and SGW all year. 
  • TGC is the primary employer across the year. Full-time position.

Job Overview:

This is a unique opportunity to work as a Nursery Support Assistant / Playworker across two exceptional settings:

  • St George’s Junior School Weybridge (SGW), term time - Early Years Education
  • The Gap Club (TGC), throughout the year - Wraparound Childcare

This dual role offers the variety to develop your skills across early years and wraparound settings, supporting children’s development in different contexts. You will play a pivotal role in creating consistent, high-quality learning and care, fostering strong relationships with children, families, and staff across both organisations.

Responsibilities:

TGC (Term Time and Holiday Clubs):

  • Be the primary link between TGC and SGW, ensuring seamless communication and practice across both settings.
  • Deliver the PEP framework for Early Years, adapting play pedagogy to meet children’s evolving needs in engaging developmentally appropriate manner.
  • Support all operations, including planning, evaluation, policies and risk assessments, to ensure safety and wellbeing.
  • Supervise and safeguard children’s welfare and wellbeing, adhering to all safeguarding policies and escalation procedures.
  • Work solely with TGC during holiday clubs, supporting both Early Years and primary-aged children.

SGW (Term Time):

  • Assist the Key Person in planning and implementing educational programs and daily activities.
  • Supervise children during all activities including playtime, meals, and nap times.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe classroom environment.
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Document and share observations of children’s progress with their Key Person.

General:

  • Collaborate with staff to ensure effective communication and seamless transitions for children.
  • Engage with parents, providing regular updates on children’s development and wellbeing.
  • Support promotional activities, including open evenings and school fairs.
  • Participate in reflective practice and quality assurance initiatives to continuously improve outcomes

Skills and Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential skills/qualifications:

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Childcare or equivalent.
  • Experience in Early Years settings with a focus on play-based learning.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 and communication tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom).
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and observational skills.
  • Up to date Knowledge of EYFS and regulation frameworks.
  • Proven ability to plan, organise and deliver engaging and stretching activities for children of all ages.

Desirable:

  • Experience in independent schools
  • Working with children with additional needs.
  • Familiarity with online learning journals.
  • A clean driving license

Role: Club Lead (Qualified Level 3) Reports to: Senior Manager Locations: Weybridge, Staines, Windsor, Wraysbury, Chertsey, Englefield Green-Egham (After School Clubs and/or Holiday clubs). Times:
