Role: Club Lead (Qualified Level 3)

Reports to: Senior Manager

Locations: Weybridge, Staines, Windsor, Wraysbury, Chertsey, Englefield Green-Egham (After School Clubs and/or Holiday clubs).

Times:

  • After School Club: 2:30pm – 5:30pm/6:30pm (Mon – Fri term time).
  • Minimum of 3 days per week. Extra hours available in Holiday Clubs. Job share welcome.
  • Holiday club: 8:00am – 6:30pm opening times. Varied shift pattern and times available with up to 40 hours per week.

Contracts Available: Term Time only or Fixed 52 week Permanent contract

Salary: From £12.50 upwards dependent on experience plus holiday pay if term time only contract.

Job Overview:

The Qualified Club Lead role offers a dynamic opportunity to combine leadership, creativity, and a passion for child development in delivering outstanding wraparound childcare services.

As the Club Lead, you will:

  • Design and implement engaging, play-based learning experiences that promote children’s well-being, curiosity, and creativity.
  • Lead and inspire a team to maintain high standards of care, safety, and compliance.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and schools to champion The Gap Club’s mission and values.

This role is ideal for a proactive, innovative professional who is committed to making a meaningful impact in children’s lives while driving excellence in wraparound care.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Activity Planning and Assessment

  • Create dynamic, inclusive activities aligned with the SPICE framework (Social, Physical, Intellectual, Creative, Emotional) and EYFS goals.
  • Use the PEP framework to foster creativity, resilience, and strong family connections.
  • Regularly evaluate and adapt activities to meet children’s diverse needs, ensuring inclusivity and engagement.

Leadership and Supervision

  • Lead and motivate a team of childcare professionals to deliver high-quality wraparound care.
  • Act as a Key Person, fostering trust and positive relationships with children and families.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to team members, supporting their professional growth.

Club Operations

  • Oversee daily club operations, including health and safety checks, risk assessments, and resource management.
  • Ensure smooth execution of administrative tasks and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with families, schools, and the community to enhance The Gap Club’s reputation and impact.

Development and Growth

  • Actively participate in training, coaching, and professional development programs.
  • Mentor and support new staff, fostering a collaborative and empowering environment.
  • Represent The Gap Club at community and school events, promoting our mission and values.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Maintain compliance with all safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote healthy eating and safe food handling practices, accommodating dietary and medical needs.
  • Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of childcare.

Key Skills and Expertise

Essential:

  • Level 3 qualification in childcare, education, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in early years or wraparound care settings, focusing on play-based learning.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in digital tools such as MS Office 365.
  • A thorough and up to date understanding of childcare regulations, safeguarding, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to create inclusive, engaging environments that encourage children’s growth and learning.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting children with additional needs or behavioural challenges.
  • Familiarity with online learning journals.
  • Background in coordinating out-of-school or community engagement activities.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to different locations as required.
