After School Club Manager – (Windsor / Chertsey)
Role: After School Club Manager
Reports to: Senior Manager
Locations:
- Windsor, Chertsey, Surrey
- Occasional meetings at TGC Head office based in Old Windsor (within 10-mile radius)
Term Times (Monday to Friday):
- 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 2:30pm–6:30pm (with the option of additional hours in our holiday clubs)
Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience
Job/Role Overview:
As an After School Club Manager, you will lead one of our vibrant after school settings, overseeing daily operations and ensuring a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable environment for children. This is a dynamic opportunity to grow your leadership and childcare skills while having fun and making a real difference.
This hands-on leadership role includes planning, safeguarding, staff supervision, liaising with parents and schools, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and childcare regulations.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Club Manager to lead and deliver a fun, dynamic, and enriching experience for children at our clubs.
Key Responsibilities:
Activity Planning & Delivery
- Enhance and facilitate play experiences that support children’s development
- Apply EYFS knowledge to create inclusive and engaging activities
- Promote a fun, child-centered atmosphere in line with our SPICE and PEP models
Child Safety & Well-being
- Maintain a high level of supervision and ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement health and safety policies.
- Administer first aid as required and record all incidents appropriately.
- Safely accompany children between settings when needed.
Team Leadership & Management
- Manage the club from 2:30pm to 6:00pm Monday–Friday
- Lead, support, and inspire a team of playworkers
- Ensure the club reflects The Gap Club’s values and high standards
- Serve as a Key Person to develop positive relationships with children and parents
Operational Excellence & Administration
- Complete safety checks, risk assessments, and daily routines
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
- Oversee accurate record-keeping and communication with families
Personal Development & Engagement
- Attend team meetings, parent events, and training sessions as required.
- Support and mentor junior staff
- Engage in continuous learning and training opportunities
- Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality standards
Skills and Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential skills/qualifications:
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years’ childcare experience
- Minimum 1 year in a leadership/management role
- Competent understanding of child development
- SEN knowledge and practical experience
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Organisational skills and attention to detail
- Friendly, professional, and proactive personality
Desirable:
- Certificate of Higher Education
- Familiarity with EYFS frameworks and safeguarding standards
- First Aid and Safeguarding certificates (or willingness to obtain).
- Familiarity with inclusive practices and child-centred approaches.
- Working with children with additional needs.
- A clean driving license
Physical Demands
- The role involves supervising activities, setting up and packing away play areas, and moving equipment.
- A good level of physical health and stamina is required to support an active and safe environment.

- Empathetic, calm, and caring approach.
- Ability to build rapport with children
- Proactive and reflective practitioner committed to continuous improvement.
