Role: Qualified Level 3 Playworker
Reports to: Club Lead/Manager
Locations: Berskhire or Surrey (Weybridge, Staines, Windsor, Wraysbury, Chertsey, Englefield Green-Egham) (After School Clubs and/or Holiday clubs).
Times:
- Typical After School Club hours: 2:30pm – 5:30pm/6:30pm (Mon – Fri term time).
- Minimum of 3 days per week. Extra hours available in Holiday Clubs. Job share welcome.
- Holiday club: 8:00am – 6:30pm opening times. Varied shift pattern and times available with up to 40 hours per week.
Contracts Available: Term Time only or Fixed 52 week Permanent contract
Salary: From £12.50 per hour dependent on experience

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Holiday Club Manager to lead and deliver a fun, dynamic, and enriching experience for children during our holiday club sessions.
Key Responsibilities
Activity Planning and Delivery
- Create inclusive, engaging, and age-appropriate activities based on SPICE and EYFS frameworks
- Use the PEP framework to promote children’s creativity, resilience, and family connections
- Regularly evaluate and adapt activities to support diverse needs and interests
Leadership and Supervision
- Act as a key person for children, building strong, trusting relationships
- Lead, support, and motivate staff to deliver excellent childcare
- Mentor and coach colleagues to support their growth and confidence
Club Operations
- Oversee daily club routines including risk assessments, safety checks, and resources
- Ensure smooth delivery of administrative duties and adherence to policies
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, and community partners
Professional Development and Team Culture
- Actively participate in training, coaching, and professional development programs.
- Mentor and support new staff, fostering a collaborative and empowering environment.
- Represent The Gap Club at community and school events, promoting our mission and values.
Compliance & Safeguarding
- Uphold all safeguarding, health and safety, and food hygiene regulations
- Promote healthy eating and ensure safe food handling
- Maintain confidentiality and act professionally in all situations
Key Skills and Expertise
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in childcare, education, or equivalent.
- Experience in early years or wraparound care settings
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding, EYFS, and regulatory standards
- Proficiency in using digital tools such as MS Office 365
- Ability to create inclusive, play-rich environments for diverse learners
Desirable:
- Experience supporting children with additional needs or behavioural challenges.
- Familiarity with online learning journals.
- Knowledge of Every Child Matters and Ofsted welfare requirements
- First aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Flexible to travel and work at different locations
- Experience with admin, reporting, or customer service
Physical Demands
The role involves supervising, engaging with children activities, setting up and packing away play areas, and moving equipment. A good level of physical health and stamina is required to support an active and safe environment.
