Role Overview

This is a unique dual-role opportunity to work across St George’s Weybridge (SGW) and The Gap Club (TGC).

You will support Early Years education within St George’s Nursery during term time, alongside playing a key role at The Gap Club, delivering high-quality wraparound and holiday provision through play-based learning.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about both early year’s education and playwork, and who thrives in a fun, dynamic and child-centred environment.

Please note: You will be employed separately by St George’s Weybridge and The Gap Club, with individual contracts for each setting.

Key Responsibilities

Activity Planning & Delivery (TGC Focus)

  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and age-appropriate activities
  • Use the PEP framework to promote creativity, confidence, and development
  • Adapt activities to meet the needs and interests of all children
  • Create a fun, safe, and stimulating play environment

 

Early Years Support (SGW Nursery)

  • Assist the Key Person in planning and delivering EYFS-based activities
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development
  • Observe and record children’s progress and share with the Key Person
  • Prepare learning materials and maintain an organised environment
  • Ensure a safe, clean and nurturing classroom

Leadership & Relationships

  • Act as a key person, building strong and trusting relationships with children
  • Support and work collaboratively with colleagues across both settings
  • Build positive partnerships with parents and carers
  • Act as a positive role model for children and staff

Club Operations & Organisation

  • Support daily routines including set up, pack down and transitions
  • Follow policies, procedures, and administrative processes
  • Contribute to a smooth and high-quality provision across both settings

Compliance & Safeguarding

  • Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare standards at all times
  • Follow EYFS and Ofsted requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Promote healthy eating and safe practices

Professional Development & Team Culture

  • Participate in training and development opportunities
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive team environment
  • Reflect on practice and continuously improve

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children in Early Years or wraparound care
  • Strong understanding of EYFS and child development
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to create engaging, inclusive play experiences
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare

Desirable

  • Experience in holiday clubs or wraparound care
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs
  • Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience with online learning journals
  • Experience in an independent school setting

  • 22.5 hours per week (Term Time): St George’s Nursery (SGW), 10:00am–3:00pm, Monday–Friday
  • 17.5 hours per week (Term Time): The Gap Club (SGW site), 3:00pm–6:30pm, Monday–Friday
  • 40 hours per week: The Gap Club Holiday Club during school holidays
