With the Christmas break we wanted to take the opportunity to thank you all for your support in ensuring all our settings remained safe over the last few months. Despite the holiday, sadly the virus will not be going away, so it is important that we all do our part for contact tracing.
Coronavirus Symptoms and Positive Tests over the Christmas Break – Updated guidance from DofE and PHE and Local Authorities
There is now a requirement for early years settings to be available after closing for Christmas to assist in the collation of information for the test and trace.
Symptoms: Should a member of your household have to self-isolate, please ensure that those who display symptoms get a test, follow link procedure here to get a test.
In the event of your child or children needing a test and then getting a positive result you will need to inform The Gap Club. This is to allow us to contact trace.
Please ensure you provide us with the following information for us to be able to pass onto public health:
- Name of child and Club attended
- What day/ date did they start displaying symptoms.
- When did they get a positive test?
- What were the symptoms?
After the 24th December at 12 noon you should report direct to public health England by phoning 119.
If you do need to let us know about a positive test result, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and mark the subject POSITVE TEST detailing the above information.
We also request that you make sure we have the correct email address for you on our booking system. This in case we need to contact you in the event of a positive result and a bubble needing to isolate. Sadly, if there is a positive result in a bubble, the 10-day isolation rule for a positive test and contacts of one still applies despite it being holiday time.
Should your child test positive or display symptoms prior to returning to school in January, you will need to make sure that both School and The Gap Club are aware. You will also need to keep to isolation rules, attach gov.uk link on isolation at www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/when-to-self-isolate-and-what-to-do/
We would like to wish you a very merry and above all safe Christmas and we are looking forward to a brighter 2021.
